problem exporting into media encoder from after effects

When I export a simple composition from Adobe After Effects into Media Encoder, it generates a .mp4 file, but the video file is blank. 

The composition is a 5-second video with a 3-letter word to which I've applied stroke animation to make it look like I'm writing each letter out.
