Reduce M2V files size

I've experimented a bit with transcoding video files to MPEG-2 format in premiere pro, but no matter what, I always get an HUGE file (from 1GB to 6GB). So here's the question, is there a way reduce M2V files to a more manageable size?

You may need to play around with the Bitrate settings in the Export Settings window.
