Subtitles

Question

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me.I DO NOT want to burn subtitles into the video, but rather create the video in such a way that I can open or close the subtitles. I've tried so many things—do you have any tips?

Originally, for broadcast TV, you'd create your subtitles as, for example, 608, and then embed them into the video file. This only works with certain export types.

But in most applications now, you export the subtitles as a sidecar file (e.g. srt), and the playback application handles whether the subtitles show or not.

You choose how you want the subtitles to be processed in the Captions section of the export dialogue.
