Unsupported File Error Exporting from Animate to Media Encoder

Has anyone else run into issues with exporting from Animate into Media Encoder? I have a MacBook Pro Retina from mid 2015. I think one potential thing causing this could be related to Adobe ditching Flash Player recently, and if that’s the case I have no idea what step to take next.

Issues I’m having:

-When I export from Animate, it loads the bar to send it to ME, and ME opens, but then nothing is in the queue

-if I try to import a swf file instead, ME tells me swf files are not a supported file type (swf files WILL open and work for me on their own, though)

-if I try to open an unconverted Quicktime file, I can’t open it because Flash says it can’t open it, and if I drop it into ME, it says that also won’t work there

Things I’ve tried already that didn’t work (I honestly might forget some because I've tried so many things):

-Hitting the Enter key when ME opens to see if that will load my file into the queue

-Checking that ME’s and Animate’s preferences are set correctly

-Exporting a smaller length of my file in case the file size was the issue

-Checking other .fla files to make sure it wasn’t just that the one I was working in is corrupted

-Checking that both Animate and ME are the most recent versions

-Reverting ME back to several different older versions

-Updating my Mac’s Software (this had its own issues then where it said I needed “4.9GB space” more to update, no matter how much I deleted or moved onto an external hard drive, even when I knew I had removed much more than 4.9. I gave up on this being my solution for the ME problem)

-Testing swf files in After Effects ("unsupported" error again)

-Importing an entire fla file into ME (also got the "unsupported" error)

I’ve looked at Reddit threads, tried everything I can think of… can’t seem to find anyone else who has had this specific persistent issue. If any other poor soul has dealt with this and managed to fix it, I’d love some help!! Otherwise I think I’ll have to get in contact with Adobe support over the phone and see what they think
