WAV audio distorted

I have just used AME to convert Sony EXCam files to WAV 16 bit 48K and the conversions have come out distorted. The same EX files exported from Premiere are fine. Not a huge problem as I have worked around it to finish the project but is there any known issues with exporting WAV files?
