What does "color management" do when selected in Media Encoder?

Hello all,

When setting up Color Management in PPro and AE, I understand how those work... they access the icc profile in the OS (and or the one you created with a puck) and allow you to see the timelines thru the eyes of that icc profile...

But in Media Encoder, when I check the Color Management box in Preferences, what does it really do?

It doesn't change the export, from what I can tell.   It's supposed to use the icc profile in the OS, but use it for what?

Thanks!
Letty

Hi Letty,

Thanks for writing in. Color manager manages display frames as per the monitor settings. By default,
Enable Display Color Management is disabled. This parameter affects how thumbnails are displayed in the Media
Browser and Encoding panels. Exported media is unaffected by this setting.

I hope it answers your question.
