Question

Accessing a cloud file from a deactivated account

Hello everyone,

Last year I pursued a minor in design and received an Adobe license through the school.

Now I my own Adobe account again, but unfortunately, I lost all the files associated with the school account. Despite attempting to sign in, it seems I no longer have a valid license. Does anyone know a way on how I might get access and transfer the license to my current account?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

It sounds like a frustrating situation! Since your Adobe license was tied to the school account, it may have expired once you no longer had access to that account. Unfortunately, Adobe licenses tied to educational institutions often get deactivated when you’re no longer a student.

However, there are a couple of things you can try:

  1. Contact Adobe Support: They may be able to help you recover the files or transfer your license from the school account to your personal one if you have proof of your prior association with the school.

  2. Reach out to your school’s IT or support team: They might be able to provide you with access to your previous account or help with transferring your files if the Adobe account is still active under their institution’s license.

  3. Adobe Cloud: If you were using Adobe Cloud, your files might still be available through their cloud storage (even if the license expired) — worth checking!

Hi. I can no longer sign into my adobe school account since its deactivated. I tried the support chat but it wont help without a paid subscription. What else can I do? Is there another way to contact support?

If you log onto that account and can see the file, just right click on the file, click download and pick a folder to save the psd file in.  Then add that file to your new account.
