Adobe Xd experience on Windows

Dear Community

I begann to use Adobe Xd just recently within the last 3-4 weeks. I am collaborating with an external UI/UX specialist (he works on a Mac). Maybe someone has an idea what I can do to improve my experience/performance with Adobe Xd on Windows (except switching on a Mac ;-).

Here are our work settings:

  • Adobe Xd files saved in the Adobe cloud to collaborate the work, therefore has to be in Adobe cloud.
  • Our mockups are published on xd.adobe.com for reviews.
  • Mac User has no issues.
  • Windows user has issues (see bellow)

Windows user issues

  • Very bad performance of Adobe Xd (On an actual AMD Processor and a RTX 3090 graphicscard with 64 GB Ram - nice machine)
    • Editing of labels initially after Adobe Xd starts works fine, after a while the editing gets awkward. I can't just click in a blank Area or Esc to "leave" the field, I have to click on another element or Resize the whole application window. Sometimes even after a Restart this problem reappears just after 5-10 Min. My guessing is, that this has to do with autosaving the content. Any ideas?
      • When that starts to happen, i also can't see the cursor in Textfields anymore.
      • And also marking texts doesn't show them highlighted, but i can delete them.
    • When I compare (by Screensharing with my collaborator) his edits in Adobe Xd seem to work much faster. For example insert a label, edit it, hit Esc. That can take up to 10 or more seconds for me on a windows (2-3 seconds on mac), which feels so slow. My (not yet approved) guess is, that this behavior increases by the runtime of the application.
    • Happened once: Ctrl + Z didn't work anymore and as I found out after that, the files changes weren't saved to the cloud anymore. Thankfully i remarked it, made a copy. Restarted Adobe Xd and deleted the old file (Happily the links didn't change).

Happy to hear from windows users if the experience the same issues and i just have to deal with them or if there are certain solutions. I had a quick look into the Community posts, but didn't find a suitable fix/solution. If I missed a post pls provide me the link.

Thank you. 😃

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please share a few more details like:

    1. The version of XD.
    2. Is this happening with a specific file or multiple files?
    3. Please check if there are any pending updates for Windows OS or display drivers.
    4. If everything is up to date and still it's happening, please collect and share system logs using the Adobe Log Collector Tool and the spin dump file by following the steps shared here:
    • Launch Task Manager
    • Select the Adobe XD process
    • Right click on the Adobe XD process
    • Select “Create dump file”
    • This will generate a binary file

We're here to help, just need more details.

    Regards

    Rishabh
