Adobe XD slow in MacOS Mojave

Hi.

I updated my iMac to Mojave, and now I'm getting some low performance on Adobe XD, like zooming in/out, moving the screen around, etc.

Does anyone noticed this too? Any tips?

So we have finally been able to reproduce in-house with an NVIDIA GeForce GT driver and 10.14. Definitely appears to be a leak/bug in the 10.14 Mojave NVIDIA Driver. We have reported to both Apple and NVIDIA and are waiting to hear back. Stay tuned.

Hi all. I think it is not because of the Mohave vers. but Adobe XD itself. For me, this slowness is started before Mohave. Today I updated my MacOs to Mohave and XD is still slow.

hcakiroglu What version of macOS 10.14 are you running? And what are your system specs?

I'm still having this issue. It is not happening on my 2015 MacBook Pro with the Radeon graphics, but it IS happening on my 2013 iMac with NVidia graphics:

I am also using Google Drive for my files as someone else had mentioned, so I will check to see if this could resolve the issue for me by moving my files off of there.

Just a quick note, I moved my files over to my Desktop instead of Google Drive and this did not fix the issue.

Also here again is screenshot of my system as I see it did not work on the previous post: Screen Shot on 2019-01-14 at 09:52:18.png • Droplr

Prior to the update, XD worked great without any issues at all.

simonk75032621, you do not have macOS 10.14.2 where Apple fixes this issue.  (Looking at your screen shot).

Hey there, if you don't want to use a beta release like macOS 10.14.2 beta 3 in production but also can't wait until Apple releases 10.14.2, here is a workaround that worked for me:

1) Install gfxCardStatus (free and open-source) from https://gfx.io/

It's a utility menu bar app that lets you manually select which GPU your Mac uses.

2) Launch gfxCardStatus and select “Integrated Only” in the menu bar app. In case you have apps like XD, Photoshop or Chrome running, you will need to close them first or try again after closing them.

3) You're now using the integrated GPU (instead of the high-powered Nvidia GPU) and the pinch zoom and panning in XD should run smoothly again.

I hope this helps.

I'm looking forward to installing the new and oficial version. I don't want to participate of a Beta program... I've already had problems with the oficial version. I regret the day that I'd installed Mojave, because the problem is not ONLY with Adobe XD, it's with everything. To navigate in FINDER becomes terrible!!! How can we work like that? My computer was a good one.. now, it's terrible.....

Well, how I've worked with XD? I open the file and work on it, normally. But if I open another file on XD or other APP, I close the XD and open it again..... in Brazil we call that "gambiarra".

So has anyone on this thread tried macOS 10.14.3 beta 3 to see if the issue has been resolved?

Good news!

I'm using beta 3 since yesterday and it seems the problem has been solved. No more slow downs

If anyone here is in the Apple beta program, Apple says that macOS version 10.14.2 beta 3 has a fix that addresses the issue with the slow down those with NVidia cards are experiencing.

Please try beta 3 or wait until 10.14.2 is officially released and let us know if the problem is fixed for you.

I am on 10.14.2, but then I have Radeon Pro 560X, and haven't seen any slowdown with XD.

FWIW only 10.14.2 beta three has the fix for the NVidia folks above.

So... I think I celebrated very early.

Now it takes much longer to happen, but the problem persists.

Are all updates promised by Apple / NVidea / Adobe already released?

Well, today is a glorious day!

I updated Adobe XD today and it seems the problem has been fixed!

macOS Mojave - 10.14.1

Adobe XD - 13.1.32.8

Thanks so much for everyone. Now I can go back to work seamless again

No the problem has not been fixed. Though there is a fix being tested at Apple. So looks to be soon.

Can we know a when it will be fixed, how many days it can take, xd is not usable from last 1 month

I found an issue to the problem: it seems to come from the fact that I work on files from my Google Drive folder. If I copy the files on my hard drive and work from it, Adobe XD works perfectly. I also opened a lot of XD files from my HDD to clear all latest opened files suggested from my google drive in the Adobe XD menu to ensure a fast start of Adobe XD because i had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to have access to my Mac when I started Adobe XD with latest opened files suggested from my Google Drive folder.

Hope it will help.

So... any updates? This slow down is really annoying... can we expect a date to have it solved?

Apple is actively working to fix, that's all I know.
