assets and animation

Question

I have two pages and I want to make a menu animation, but as soon I make my menu as a symbol, animation stops working. If menu items are as a group, everything works. I made both menu looks a symbol and names are the same.

I need those different menu looks to be a assets, cause I'll have very many pages.

Do you have ideas how to resolve my problem, so I get my animation? In attached document, you can see what I'm talking about.

I am not sure but I assume this is a limitation of symbol property as it works as a whole one object and cant include separate transition of each element.
