Can a Federated ID utilise the starter plan?

Hi,

We are a school planning to use Adobe XD with students. We have setup sso with adobe federated ID's. These ID's can sign into and activate Adobe XD. But they cannot use the publishing features. We have checked the admin console and there is no restriction on publishing set.

Is the functionality that you get with the starter plan not available to these types of accounts? I can sign in and utilise the DreamSpark storage with this type of ID, so its a little weird that I cannot via XD.

Hi, before positing here I did contact enterprise support and their answer was the same as yourself. I guess the best way to push this idea through to decision makers is via uservoice?

I  checked with the team, and am sharing their response here.

XD starter plan isn’t entitled via Adobe enterprise admin console. Users can sign into XD free app using federated ID because it’s configured at the directory level.

Is there any plans for this to change? From the recent PR around Adobe XD, it appears to be aimed at education and student users as much as the general public, students already have 2GB of cloud storage via DreamSpark, so it seems strange not to enable the base level publishing for Adobe XD also.

In a classroom setting, it makes managing the gathering of work and getting students setup far easier if their accounts are managed for them. They would be ready to go from day one. As it stands, it looks like users are expected to create their own Adobe ID's which could add to the effort to set them up and manage access.
