Recently files have been lost on the computer at work and I would like to know if there is some kind of way to make a recovery. I have checked that they are not in the trash in the cloud and I find it extremely rare.
I would appreciate any kind of help as the lost files represented a large number of hours of work.

It's sad to hear that. I think this piece of information might help you recover your XD files from the cloud.
You could go to either "https://assets.adobe.com/cloud-documents" or "https://assets.adobe.com/deleted (Only if the files are deleted" and you check if you have the files here. This location would contain all the files that were created from your creative cloud ID.
You revert if you are facing any issues.
