Can't make text box desired dimensions

I have a text box that needs to be 460px wide. If I select and drag the handle (while zooming right in) it jumps from 458px to 464px however many times I try. If input the desired dimensions in the transform panel, as soon as I press enter after inputting 460, it jumps to 464px...

To top it all, the 460 mark ends exactly on one of my layout grid columns so why is not snapping?

Hmm, never experienced that, I think I'd try pasting some elements to an empty file and editing there to see if it's specific to that file, also feel free to share a screencast/video of the problem maybe me or some other expert can make a suggestion. Hope this helps!
