Can't open XD file due to update but I can't update XD as well - I'm going in circles. Pls HELP!!

I am the File owner of a big UI design project made using XD - my team are collaborating on it and one of our team mates updated their XD and added files in. Now I can't open the file until I update. When I try to update it I can't because I have to save that file. I go in circles and now I can't open that file. Pls help
