When I copy a chunk of type that has been formatted with character styles into another text box all of the formatting is lost. There has to be a way around this.

Hi there. Unfortunately, it's always been like that.
If you'd like to copy the formatting, you copy the whole text box.

I normally split headings, copy and other stuff in separate boxes, instead of formatting within the same, as the text engine within Xd is pretty flimsy.

    Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in response. It looks like we have a similar concern raised here: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/14595153-maintain-text-formatting-when-copying-and-pasting if so, I would also request you to please submit your feedback and upvote the request to add your voice.

Thanks Spas K for sharing the alternative suggestion.

    Thanks,

    Harshika
