Question

Creative Cloud library icons with masks created in Illustrator aren't showing the mask in XD.

I just don't understand this behavior, maybe somebody can help me pls?

  1. I created some icons in Illustrator and saved them in a CC library
The icons are all masked so that they have a uniform size of 16x16 px
If I add them from the libary in an illustrator file they look fine and they all have the same size

they are both structured in the same way with a mask and a path

  2.  Now I open my XD file, I import the same icons from the CC library its weird...
    - the left icon is fine = it has the mask and is 16x16px
    - However, the right one seems to lack the mask

I tried various things, but I couldnt come up with an explanation of why it happens in the first place and also why the two icons are different.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Anybody else experiencing these issues?

I'm on Windows 10, using XD Version: 41.1.12.9, Creative Cloud Sync 4.14.0.17

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the trouble. Would you mind checking this article on Non-supported features when you import an Illustrator file and confirm if there is blockage of these non-supported features?

Let us know if you need further assistance.

We would be happy to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi Harshika,

thanks for your reply. I checked the link you provided and this is my understanding.

When editing the element in Illustrator from the Adobe CC library, I can see the following features:

  • group
  • clipping mask
  • path

All of these should be supported based on the info in the link.

However, when I add them from the CC library to XD the icon does not have the mask. When I transfrom the library object to a local shape there is also no mask available.

I wanted to attach the files but I got some error msg..
