cutting and pasting artboard resets all symbol overrides

I'm cutting and pasting an artboard from one document to another.

When I do so, all component overrides on the pasted document are reset which is not helpful.

Is there a way to avoid this?

I'm now starting with a blank document.

The overrides stay but I'm only getting components imported. No Colors or character styles. I don't want to use a shared library as it's only caused MASSIVE PROBLEMS in the past.

Is there a way to import the styles?

For now no. unfortunately. You have to add new styles for copied object in new document,
