Error 44:23 while creating a prototype link in XD 55.2 version

This is a huge issue. I've seen many posts with people  having the same issue and no resolution. From what I've read it's a limitation of art board sizes occupying the work space but this is such a fatal error as the workspace needs to accomodate a large number of art boards and still be shared with stakeholders and developers. It's such a huge obsticle in productivity I now understand why people use Figma over XD.

Hi @ryang2723,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing while creating links in XD. We understand your frustration. In addition to what our expert has suggested. Would you mind telling us if it's happening with all files or with a specific file? Please share the version of XD and the details of your operating system.

Is it possible for you to share the file with me over a private message so that I check on my end? If yes, please upload the file to a shared location such as CC or Dropbox and share the URL with me.

I will try my best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Thnaks @HARSHIKA_VERMA So far it's happened in a file with around 60 artboards and a file with 9 artboards. All for the same project as I had to make a new file. I'm using XD v. 55.2.12.2 x64 on Mac OS v 12.6.

One possible workaround I've found is that I can generate a link under the CUSTOM settings. I can then switch to one of the other settings, like USER TESTING, and update it without issue. So far.

Thank you for your quick response and for sharing the workaround. Is it possible for you to share any of the XD files with me so that I can check on my end for investigation purposes?

I will try my best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Here are some solutions that you can try from another post:

As Adobe is in the process of acquiring Figma, I would speculate that it's possible there could be new improvements or even a new product:
