Is there a way to export an animated gif of an animation I have created with Adobe XD using the auto-animation feature?

Is it possible?

If so, how?

Correct answer Ares Hovhannesyan

No. But if you want to export gif from animation that have been created in Adobe Xd you can use any capture program like Camtasia or any other one  After recording screen you would be able to export gif from that movie.

Preserving transparency for and creating transparent animated gifs or animated formats is still problematic. Any ideas?

there is but it involves After Effects. Design your animation on artboards with green background. then screen capture the video of animation. after that go to After Effects and using green screen removal you can remove the background and also export that in GIF format.

Save your animation as mp4 from the play feature in XD, convert the mp4 to gif using something like this

https://ezgif.com/

Takes a minute or 2.

Hi,

Will you please guide me on how to capture mp4? I am not able to find the feature. I am using XD on Mac.

Hello Waheed,

You have to record your interaction after clicking on the "Desktop Preview" button. I am sharing a link below which I think might be helpful for you. You will get the file in the ".mov" format which you can convert in ".mp4" either from online convertor or else the best way is to use Adobe Media Encoder. The other way on a mac is to use the "Quicktime" player for screen recording.

I hope this will suffice your concern.

I thought of this also. Not exactly slick.

Not slick ? So you'd opt to let Adobe spend scarce development resources on supporting a 32-years old flawed and crippled file format, with the graphical refinement of a pack of gravel ? Oh, please nooo... 😉

Apart from cult-inclined purposes, GIFs should be shunned in any professional area.

Let's hope the new HEIF format gets support and endorsements from major parties quickly !
