Help with lost history for xd file after moving it to a new project folder

Hey and thank in advance. I had an xd file i had been wookriung for months. Yesterday I decided to move  it to a new Project in CC. The move took a while, but CC notiified it was successful.

I then deleted the original file ( I assume this should not be done as the proijectgs folders doesn't create a copy).

I went to open the file in the projects folder. the xd file is there, but it is a version from a month ago. There is also an error now when opening it in XD. I can see no relevant files in my deleted folder, and the history for this file when I can get it to open has the current version as some time from last month.

What could have happened? How can II access the correct latest version of this file?
