How can I scale a set of artboards to a lower resolution

I'm working with a set of artboards that were designed for a 2048x1536 display.  However, such a display is very difficult to purchase unless you are a tablet manufacturer.

I'd like to take these artboards and scale them down to 1024x768, keeping all of the various elements within each artboard scaled accordingly.

How can this be done in Adobe XD?  Apologies is this is obvious; I'm new to XD and trying to quickly prototype something for our customer that reflects a device that is readily available.  They only want a 9.7" to ~10.4" diagonal display size.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Scott,

If you actually want to resize everything in the artboard smaller, then resize the artboard in the Properties inspector, then marquee select everything that was in the artboard, hold down the Shift key then drag in from one of the right-corner resize handles so it all fits as you want in the smaller artboard.

If you want instead to scale only the spacing between objects (this is a fairly common workflow), you can do so by setting the artboard to responsive in the Properties Inspector - once Responsive Resize is on, resizing the artboard smaller should scale down the distance between objects. See Responsive resize and constraints for more information.

Thanks Joe,

I do want to make everything smaller, but I am not sure what you mean by "marquee select".  How is that done?

I appreciate your help!

Hi Scott,

To marquee-select, with the Select tool, just click outside the area you want to select and then drag a "rectangle" around all the elements you want to select. Once the desired elements selected, you can scale them down proportionally using shift+resize as mentioned previously.
