How to create different instances of the same color in XD?

Is it possible to manage different instances of the same color in XD so that when I change the color, for example white1 and white2, I can assign different new colors?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. In addition to what our expert has advised, I found a similar question raised here: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/36946459-use-multiple-instances-of-the-same-swatches

Please check out Elaine's comment in the comment section. Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

As a workaround ok. Since it is no problem for the developers to trade multiple instances of the same color as variables, it would be nice if I could work this way in XD as well.

When you add any color to the Assets, if you then edit that color, the change will be reflected in all elements using that color in the document. You cannot have 2 instances of the same color though. There has to be at least some difference in the values.
