Impossible to share svg assets with developers

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the shortcomings of XD, it shouldn't even be a  Beta!

Since February I've been complaining to support about not having all assets marked for export available to download when sharing. After several hours with support going through the tedious and ongoing uninstall this, reinstall that, do it all again I finally got this:

We have tested your XD file at our end and found out that only one of the states marked for export (active state) of the component is available for download. This is a known limitation in the Design Specs asset export workflow and Adobe is aware about it. The team is working on addressing this problem soon.

The only workaround for this is available as of now is to export the assets locally and share them with developers.

To add insult to injury, the link does not have any workarounds.

I tried exporting svgs individually to share with developers manually (so much for all the hype surrounding handover etc!) and this just opens yet another can of worms. The svgs are basically unusable, garbled, missing parts and applied effects... As an example, exporting this as an svg 

results in this when opening the exported svg in illustrator:
this is actual size, the truncation displayed is part of the svg!

Before you ask, yes, that pixelated edge is actually a vector to which you can change the colour in illustrator. Mind blowing. 

A quick search through the forums regarding svg issues results in numerous unresolved problems.

Basically right now XD is unusable for any serious work and definitely not for the handover of anything. I would've been better all along if I had simply designed everything in illustrator from the beginning.

How is everyone dealing with all this? I'm currently at the stage when I'm about to give up completely. XD is faulty beyond belief, it should've never seen the light of day.
