Is it possible to have a typrewriter effect animation in XD?

Hi, does anyone know of a typewriter effect tutorial on the net? Can this be done with Xd or I need to use AE instead? 

There a few countdown timer ones, which are similar in principle (from Dansky, Caler), but none so far on this subject. I would like to replace words of varying lenght, but this is next level complication.
