Subject: Major Performance and Functionality Issues with Adobe XD (Offline Usage)

Hi Adobe XD Community,

We are encountering several major issues while using Adobe XD in an offline environment due to strict data security protocols. We are working with the latest version of XD under a single license, and the PC setup includes a powerful graphics card and 128GB of RAM, so hardware limitations should not be the issue.

Here are the main problems we’ve been facing:

  • Severe Software Latency: Whenever we work with large artboards (e.g., 4 screens at 1920x1080 resolution) or when there are many components, the software becomes almost unusable due to significant lag.

  • Text Input Issues: We regularly experience problems with text entry, such as being unable to select text or type. After confirming a text input, it sometimes takes up to a minute for the text to appear.

  • Copy/Paste Problems: Copying and pasting elements often fails, with no way to paste them afterward.

  • Save Errors: We frequently encounter save errors, including error codes like "61," which interrupt our workflow.

These issues have become critical and are impacting our ability to meet project deadlines. Due to the latency and functionality problems, it's becoming impossible to continue working on larger files.

Has anyone else experienced these issues or found any workarounds, particularly when using XD offline on larger projects?

    @Earine_Dlt1603 I use the desktop version on my MacBook Pro, although it is an older laptop, late 2013, with 16gigs of RAM with a 1TB....I have no issues working on it (wow, envious of 128gigs of RAM....lucky you!). I have three screens, and I work with hi-fi interactive prototypes and no issues. I would say, I tend to work on a lean MacBook Pro...meaning, I have no files on my desktop (just alias/shortcuts)...so, if you have files on your desktop, your computer's OS has to work harder to manage and display them all—it takes more system resources like RAM and CPU power.

    Sometimes, a simple un-install and re-install will do the tick if resetting your preferences doesn't work. As well deleting the Caches too. For example, I had replaced my laptop battery on my MacBook Pro. Chrome, and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop seems to be crashing as soon as it was fixed. The Apple store experts told me to un-install it and re-install but clear the cache. So, on my Mac, its Library - Caches (I essentially selected all the folders in the 'Cache' and deleted it). It will get re-created when I start it back-up.

    Why would I delete the apps and cache? Apple said that maybe the Mac was being in the process updating while the battery was being changed. It shouldn't be, but small things like this can cause issues. I did use Adobe Cleaner Tool (https://helpx.adobe.com/.../cc-cleaner-tool-installation...) to make sure I removed the correct Illustrator and Photoshop correctly too....guess what....so far so good! No more crashing. 

    With the blazing speed of your PC, it does sound harsh though that Xd is giving you so much issues!
