Making Square Grid Visible On Developer View

Is there any way to make square grids visible on developer view? That is something really needed. We can already view the layout grid but for the game development the square grid is commonly used one and it is missing. I have tried to export the grid as png and placed above all the layers. But now i cant hover over other elements. 

Would be awesome to see this feature in the software soon. And if there is any other method to make it work would be so appreciated if you share with me.

    Unfortunately, you can't turn the square grid on in the specs view. Your solution would be the only one to kinda work. You can select elements underneath the grid by holding Ctrl. The grid will get selected first, but on the second Ctrl-Click the element underneath will get selected. It's annoying, but it's the only option right now. Alternatively, if you right click at the same point, it will show a list of the layers that intersect at this point and let you choose which one to select.
