Need shortcut icon for Adobe XD on windows 10

After installing V54.1.12 the desktop shortcut icon on Windows 10 has disappeared/is broken. I understand the software gets installed in WindowsApps, but I don't have permissions to open that folder even though it's my own personal PC. I tried every method on google to give myself permission to open it but it's impossible, so let's move past that. I understand I can drag and drop a shortcut from the start menu, I did that, but what I want is the actual shortcut icon and I can't access it. Is there somewhere externally I can download the latest shortcut icon so I could drop it in an accessible folder somewhere, right-click the shortcut, and change the icon to the path I set? I just need the .png or whatever it is. Thanks!

    Hi @nrgzone,

Thank you for reaching out. We would like to understand more about the situation here. Are you trying to create a shortcut on the taskbar or on the desktop screen? Could you please share the screenshot for better understanding? Are you able to create shortcuts for any other application?

We will try our best to help.

    Thanks,

    Harshika

Hello @HARSHIKA_VERMA , I do have a shortcut on the desktop.

All of my other Adobe shortcuts have the right icons, however Adobe XD doesn't because it gets automatically installed in the WindowsApp folder instead of where the other apps get installed. I don't have permissions to access that folder even though it's my own computer, and none of the methods I've found to give myself permissions work. This is causing the icon to appear broken/missing. Apparently, it's a very common problem for Windows 10 users, there are several threads on here with that very issue.

Therefore, I just an Adobe XD shortcut icon (the graphic itself) so that I can change the path of the shortcut icon to one that's in a folder that my PC can access.

Thank you for elaborating and sharing the screenshot. This is helpful. Could you please try repairing and resetting the apps as mentioned here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/repair-apps-and-programs-in-windows-e90eefe4-d0a2-7c1b-dd59-949a9030f317#ID0EBD=Windows_10?

If that doesn't help, please try uninstalling the Creative Cloud desktop app and reinstalling it using the Cleaner tool.

Let us know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Harshika
