No guides in prototyping mode

My guides disappear when I'm in prototyping mode, this causes a lot of problems when positioning an overlay.

There are no X/Y positioning options.

Using the cursor arrows moves the element that triggers the overlay NOT the overlay.

How am I supposed to accurately position an overlay, by eye?

So much for pixel perfection...
