Question

No scrollbar on published prototypes

Hi

Just wanted to ask the forum about a few issues I am currently having with publishing an Adobe XD prototype.  I am working on a single landing page design in XD with the artboard set to 1366px and the viewport height currently set at 2000px which should be more than enough height to drop below the 'fold' to cater for high resolution large monitors like the one I am working on which is a 27inch retina imac screen with a res of 2500px +.

However when I create the link to share this prototype and view it in the browser, the viewport height cuts off way sooner than 2000px more like a 1000px, does not fill the whole screen like I wanted it to, and does not allow to scroll unless you wheel your mouse inside the artboard zone as opposed to a scrollbar appearing in the grey area.

This is not the satisfactory viewing experience I was looking for, can someone please help me to fix this?  (link to prototype is below as well as a screenshot view of the artboard file inside XD before I exported which shows you all the settings of the artboard on the far right.)

Link to live prototype

Thanks

Dean

Hi Dean,

On inspecting your live prototype link, it shows that the viewport set on the artboard is actually 1000 and hence it is respecting that height itself.
I see the screenshot in XD shows viewport setting to 2000. That makes me think that may be link was published and then you had changed viewport in XD somehow?
Can you try updating on top of the same link once again by saving the document where you see viewport height is set to 2000. The change might not take into affect the first time.

Let me know if this helps?

Thanks!

Arun

Hi Arunk,

Thanks for replying and pointing that out.  Ok so I went back to my artboard and increased my viewport height to something more extreme like 3500px and updated the link from that,  I even took a fresh copy to my clipboard of the updated link and posting here below, but unfortunately it still made no difference what so ever. Ah this is so annoying! as there is not much else outside of this I can tweak.

Much like I said to Atul above, would you mind also creating an art-board with the same settings as mine 1366px x 6200px and publish a quick and dirty mockup of random boxes from that.  That way I can debug if it's a just a problem on my machine or a global bug coming from XD.

Link to new prototype published at 3500px

Thanks would really appreciate that.

Hi Dean,

We have tried creating an artboard with the same settings as yours. But unfortunately, we are not observing the issue and it is working fine for us. So, we are suspecting this might be related to the XD file or system settings.

To investigate further on this, can you help us out by providing the below information ?

     1. Do you see the same issue in Desktop Preview as well ?

     2.  What is your screen resolution ?

     3. Can you share the corresponding XD file with us?

Thanks,

Aasma Garg

Hi Dean,

Thanks for sharing the details and the link of the prototype, do you see the same behavior in the desktop preview as well? I have tried to replicate it and I see the scroll bar as well.

Awaiting your response.

Thanks,

Hi Atul,

Thanks for your response to my post.  Yes the link I posted is supposed to simulate a desktop viewing experience.

That is why my artboard is set to 1366px and that is the artboard I created the published link from.

Did you mean you do or don't see the scroll bar in my version or your version?  I would be very interested to see a link to your replicated version.  Could you post that in in your reply please?  Once again my artboard is 1366px and 6200px in height.  That's all you really need to know.  If you could replicate those settings, throw some random boxes on there and publish a link from that, I would really appreciate you doing that.

Thanks

Dean
