Opacity reduction of images doesn't work when in certain circumstances

I added a background image and reduced its opacity (so it is subtle in the background). However, when I zoom in (so the image gets bigger) or also in desktop preview (because the image is bigger in this view), the opacity gets back to 100%. This makes it impossible to give a decent preview of my design.

Thank you for contacting us, and sorry for the trouble caused, Please answer the below listed points,

1.In which platform your facing the issue, Win/mac?

2.In which version of XD?

3. Is it with all the files or specific file?

4. What kind of  image it is, SVG/JPEG/PNG ?

Please attach the screen recording , and if possible attach the file so that will try from our end to reproduce and fix the issue ASAP and also please update to the latest XD.
