Pen Tool Keeps Deselecting

I can not currently draw or edit shapes using the pen tool. I Select Pen Tool > Click Point > Move Mouse > this is when it de-selects. Also on old XD files I go to edit a shape > Select Point > de-selects

Any ideas?

      Sorted. Simply delete the the Adobe XD folder located in Library > Application Support > Adobe

      Hi Richard, I am encountering the same issue, but I couldn't find the folder you mentioned in the answer? are you using a MacBook? Please give me some hints....
