Preserve scroll position for Transitions between artboards

I am trying to show what happens when you click a container and it expands and shows content, but using the "Preserve scroll position" checkbox under the "Transition"  type does not seem to do anything. It still will take you to the top of the page every time.

I can't find any documentation about this, so wondering why the checkbox is even there if it's not for Transition types? 

Has anyone been able to make the "preserve position on scroll" work for Transition actions between artboards or does it NOT work at all?
