Recent files disappeared from app and computer

Question

I finished working on a prototype last night. I have been working on it for weeks and constantly saving it to my computer. Today when I opened XD and looked in my Recent Files as I normally do to open the project, it was completely blank. (Normally there would be 3 previous files I had worked on).

I searched my entire computer and found one of the 'recent files', an older one, but the two newest XD files have completely vanished from my system.

This is very strange and has never happened to me before with any file or program. If anyone has any advice that would be great otherwise I have to start from scratch a project I literally just had the satisfaction of finishing yesterday.

are you sure that the files are saved on your computer?? they maybe saved in the cloud documents!

Hi Molly,

Sorry to hear you are unable to find your files in XD. In addition to what our expert has suggested, could you please also follow the below location according to your OS if the files are present there?

Windows: \Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Adobe.CC.XD_adky2gkssdxte\LocalState

MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe XD
