Shared with me files missing

I had multiple files shared with me, that I have been continuously working on for the past year, that are now now appearing in my XD account. They are also not in the deleted folder. They seem to have just disapeared... Has this happened to anyone? How can I retreave the files? They have years of work that I can't access anymore.
