Slice for dev

Can anyone help with how to slice up a design for hand over to dev? Particulalry when you want to slice through overlapping assets? (similar to how this works in photoshop). Also, when I save out a group the background fill colour is not included.

      To export particular assets, you need to mark them for export in the layers panel, using the small icon next to the layers name:

       

       

      You then have 2 choices.

       

      One is to generate a prototype link with specs (Development view setting) from the share tab in Xd, which will make the assets marked for export available for download once your developer opens the particular page.

       

       

      Once they open the link, they will be able to select particular assets and download them all as a zip or individually in a format of their choosing, depending on the element (svg, png, pdf, jpg).

       

       

      The other option would be to manually Export Batch inside Xd (File > Export > Batch), which will export all assets marked for export from the document, in a format and size of your choosing.

       

      If you need help with exporting a particular element, please post a screenshot with the layers panel visible and the element in question selected, so we can see what's going on and how you should export it.
