"Sorry, we can't open this document" Adobe XD error (Cloud Document)

I am trying to open a CC document in Adobe XD, and I get the error saying "Sorry, we can't open this document" 

I tried downloading it locally, duplicating it, making it offline, opening it through the CC desktop app, and trying to open it through the browser view. I am able to preview a low res version of the file, but I can't open it in XD. 

This is a cloud document. Can someone please help?
