Text Problems

I'm building a website in XD using Helvetica Neue as my typeface. When a colleague  tries to open the XD website files, the text is not in the right place. Often it looks like it's shifted up or down 5-10 pixels, especially in buttons and bulleted lists. Also, sometimes the text box cuts off some of the text. For example, it's not showing the last line of copy in a paragraph. It looks fine for me since I designed and built the pages, but not for them.

Any idea why text seems to be moving and text boxes are cutting copy off when someone opens the files on a different machine? They have the same version of XD as me. See screenshots.

@tluffman it's likely they have a different version of Helvetica Neue on their computer compared to your computer. It's like sometimes a PC and Mac, or a slightly different say Helvetica Neue Narrow on your machine, but on theirs, they may NOT have Helvetica Neue Narrow but Helvetica Neue Light. So, I would give them the same fonts if you can.

When I mark my students assignments and projects, I specically will ask to use Google or Adobe Fonts because some are on PC and some are Macs. Unfortunately, not all will use that, and I have a different set of fonts which means the saved XD will look a little wonky...that's why I also ask them to 'Share a Link' so I have an idea what the prototype should look like as well.

Hope that helps a bit.

We tested the font files and they are the same. I even packaged them and sent the same Helvetica Neue font files I'm using. We are using a different font loader. They are using Font Book and I'm using Connect Fonts, but I don't think that should matter.

@tluffman one person is using a Mac OS, and you are using a PC? Yes, even with these fonts, slight variations might still occur from different OS systems. You may want to consider using Adobe Fonts to sync fonts across devices and ensure consistency?

Can you confirm if you are using a PC? or  Mac?
