Transform handles difficult to select

I am using an M1 mac, with a 4k monitor, and when I select an object and want to transform it, the handles are way too small to actually select. It seems as if there is a very small 1 or 2 pixel movement I can make with my mouse where the handle to rotate, for example, appears...it's getting extremely frustrating. I find that  when I switch resolutions on my monitor it's still the same problem...is there any way to adjust this?
