Typing bugs

Has anyone experienced a bug when editing text? This is the most common bug I have to deal with whenever I open Adobe XD.

What happens is that the text wll simply won't update to what i type. this means i don't see anything being typed on the screen and if i hit the escape key, the text comes back on. Same thing for adjusting shape size but it is less common.

I know the program is basically dead but somehow i still find value in this.

For my next project I will be giving Figma a try because it is really annoying.

I am using version 57.1.2.2

I also wanted to reach out to the community and ask if Adobe made any updates regarding Adobe xd?

    This is one of the oldest Xd bugs, and as far as I know it's only happening on Windows. The only temporary fix has always been to Alt+Tab to a different window and then come back to Xd.

     

    The Xd team shifted the blame to Microsoft a few years ago, saying they're waiting for a fix from MS. It was never fixed, and it never will be, as Xd is in maintenance mode now. Xd's whole text engine has been problematic, likely requiring some sort of massive rewrite, and Adobe probably decided it's not worth the investment to fix it.

      Thank you for the tip! Really sucks because Adobe definitely has the budget... so either negotiations are taking longer than expected (lol) or they just don't care at all. Leaning more towards the latter haha.

      Negotiations were for Adobe to acquire Figma, which they were interested in since 2019, and development has been slowing down and practically stopped since then. The deal was blocked by the UK and EU regulators as anti-competitive. So it fell through last year and Adobe had to pay Figma a $1B termination fee.

       

      At this point Xd was too far behind to catch up, the dev team has moved on to other projects and I believe nobody is developing anything for Xd anymore.

        @warpig13 this sounds insane....are you on a MAC or PC? Thankfully, I haven't experienced that (just some lagging issues, but once I cleared my cache: 7gigs, I was fine!)

        I've read that some people have keyboard issues in other applications. Have you tried disabling and re-enabling your keyboard? It's a simple solution that has helped some users. 

        I agree, Figma might be the next best step in all this...

        Windows user.
        In my experience Windows tends to be more buggy overall on UI and other stuff so I'm kind of used by now.
        I've been having connectivity issues with my keyboard actually, but the typing bug on Xd has always been there.
