Unable to install latest XD update on Mac 10.14.6 due to system incompatibility

Hi,

 

I'm still running Mac Mojave 10.14.6 and the Creative Cloud app tells me there is an update for XD to 56.0.12. However, the update always fails and the log says:

 

FATAL: Sanity check for installation failed. Current OS version 10.14.6 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.

 

 I'm also told that 56.1.12 is available but that it isn't compatible with my system, which makes sense.

 

So why does Creative Cloud offer me an update that I cannot install? And how can I fix this other than by upgrading?

I understand your frustration with the update issue you're having with Adobe XD on your Mac running Mojave 10.14.6. It seems that the Creative Cloud app is offering you an update that your current operating system does not meet the requirements for. This can be confusing and inconvenient.

 

The reason behind this is that software updates often come with new features, enhancements, and bug fixes that may require a newer operating system version to function properly. In this case, the update to XD 56.0.12 requires an operating system version that is higher than Mojave 10.14.6, hence the installation failure and the compatibility message for XD 56.1.12.

 

To address this issue, you have a couple of options. One option is to consider upgrading your operating system to a version that meets the requirements for the XD update. Upgrading your Mac to a newer macOS version will not only allow you to install the XD update but also ensure compatibility with other software and security updates.

Hey, thanks for the response but you missed the issue. The system knows there are updates that I cannot install tells me that by putting "Not Compatible" next to them. In fact, there is an update for XD (57.0.12) that is listed and so marked.

 

The issues is that the system requirements for XD (56.1.12) in whatever CMS y'all use to show updates in the Creative Cloud app don't match the internal system requirements that the installer uses. So it shows me an update that is (supposedly) available but will never install.

 

So either update the CMS requirements or update the installer requirements so they match.

 

But since it looks like XD is going away in favour of Figma, perhaps this doesn’t matter too much.
