Unusual Photo Editing

Hi there I want to crop a photo kind of to make an "H" shape, on adobe Xd. So the normal sqaure crop will not suffice. Please assist. 

 

See image below. I want only the quilt to be shown and cut out the wall as a background to be replaced with white.

    Within Xd, for the most precise result, you can create a shape with the pen tool, carefully tracing the edges of the quilt. When you're done, make sure the shape is above the image in the layer stack. Finally, select both the shape and the image layers, right click, and select "Mask with shape".

    Instead of cropping, try removing the background and saving the file as a PNG (JPEGs don't support transparency).

     

    If you don't have access to Photoshop where you can remove the background, you could use the Adobe Express Quick Action to remove it:
