Updated component not transferring new design to a document with a shared library

Hi,

I need help with tranferring my main component to another document with a shared library. I was able to get the original compoennt to other xd models (separate documents). Now due to redesign, I have changed some features of the main component in the original model (separate document). Now not only are the updates not showing in my other documents, but even when I tried copying and pasting the main component, the pasted component is in the old design. Any ideas why that is?? I am fairly new to XD.
