Question

Updating a component updates the text automatically

Hi all,

We created a set of components - buttons, dropdowns, et al - as the library document. We then linked this file to use the components on all our designs happening parallely. Now when I update the library documents, the updated spacing, colours, etc. are applied to the designs, but the text for all buttons gets updated to that in the library document, even though no change has been made with respect to the text of the label. The text overrides in the design files are getting overridden in the master, basically.

Wanted to know if there is a way around this?

  • If the text in a component's instance matches the master component, it will be updated.
  • If you override the text, updating the text in the master component should not update the instance (only visual changes should apply).

So you're saying that's not working for you? Is it affecting all components or just some? Try creating a new component and testing that one.
