Using Photoshop cloud files in XD, etc.

Saving files to Creative Cloud is all well and good within Photoshop—that is, if I later want to open and modify image files inside Photoshop. But when I save a JPG file to the cloud inside Photoshop for use in a different Adobe product, such as XD, it's nowhere to be found. It's not available in the Creative Cloud desktop, nor at assets.adobe.com—it's just gone. What am I missing?
