Question

Using webfont license on websites hosted and maintained by us?

We are considering using Adobe Fonts for websites we build and host for clients.
However, the licensing terms seem unclear to me. Could someone clarify whether it’s allowed to use Adobe webfonts on client websites that we host and maintain?

@kevinrefvik I would suggest using Google fonts only because everyone typically uses Google as a search engines. I will use Adobe fonts for my print work, but because of licensing which the client may or may not have, this could potentially violate the font license agreement. In my case, for print work, I would convert to outlines just in case.

For websites, that's a little different.... see this post for your answer:

Thanks for your suggestion Michael, but my question is more about the legalities of using Adobe Fonts for websites we host. Is it sufficient for us to have an Adobe account, or do clients also need their own licenses to cover font usage on the sites we build and maintain for them?

@kevinrefvik To use Adobe Fonts on client websites, you need to be an active Adobe subscriber and adhere to their licensing terms. If your subscription lapses, you can no longer use those fonts. So, those client websites with Adobe fonts would be in violation of the licensing agreement.
