Why GIF file exported from After Effects do not work in Adobe XD?

When we transfer our design from adobe XD to After Effects and give them motion, I Export format as the GIF, but when the GIF file imported into Adobe XD, it does not work. What is the reason?
Are the algorithms and output format of After Effects not yet compatible with Adobe XD?
