Question

Wrong tablet template formats?

When I choose the iPad Pro 12.9" template within XD it generates an art board measuring 1024x1366 px but the screen resolution of that product is 2732×2048 px at 264 ppi. What's the calculation behind this? It's not possible to work 1:1 on the tablet formats? Does XD have its own pixel density system? I've always wondered how this works cause sometimes it seems like I'm able to zoom several hundred percent with no quality loss although bitmap files are imported with a rather restricted resolution. But with the tablet formats it's the opposite, the inbuilt templates generated by XD are smaller than the actuall product and they don't match the screen specs of the device.

iPad Pro viewport size is 1024 x 1366, which XD uses as artboard size. You can of course create an artboard with iPad Pro pixel size (2048 x 2732) and design as @2x

Hi,

But I don't get why the iPad Pro 12.9" template isn't 1:1 ratio? Why is it 1024 x 1366 px when it says iPad Pro 12.9" specifically? Why aren't the device templates authentic?
