XD 44 : Trouble migrating to the cloud asset library after update

I have a local asset library with components used in other local files. Today I followed the Adobe instructions and saved my library to the cloud and published it. I can see the new library assets in my local files, but I also see the old assets with the red broken links. When I updated an asset in the new library and ran the update, I see the updates in the library in the local file, but not propagating to any of the artboards. So essentially I have two sets of the same components in each file now: in the new library (from the cloud) and in the document assets (the ones that were there prior to the library publish to the cloud). I thought the old assets were going to automtically be replaced by the new ones from the cloud library, based on Adobe instructions. Am I missing a step? Thanks!

Sorry you are having problems. I was able to reproduce this problem.

What I did to fix it:
1. Create a temporary Artboard
2. Drag each of the components being used on canvas to temporary Artboard
3. Go back to Document Assets View in Assets Panel and Click Update button again
4. Delete temporary Artboard

You can verify it's fixed for a Component on canvas by using right-click > Edit Main in Source Document and it should take you to your new cloud source document.

Does that fix it?

Hope this helps,

Randy

Thanks for looking into this, Randy! I don't have the blue update button showing up. The libraries icon has a blue dot next to it, but there is no button at the end of that panel, where it usually was. How do I get it to show up?

Another question is about what components to drag on the temporary artboards. I have many artboards populated with components that have the red broken symbols now in the document assets panel. Do I duplicate them one more time on the temporary artboard? And then delete the temporary artboard, but all the same components are on all the other artboards in the file? I guess I'm not sure what it would do?

Easiest to just drag all Components to temporary Artboard(s). Note that you can multi-select and drag a few at-a-time to save some time. Not sure why dragging a new Component Instance to canvas triggers the links to post an Update, but it worked for me.

HTH,
