Question

Xd And Zeroheight Uploads

Recently I had a chat with the Zeroheight Support Team member about a big issue I'm about to explain:

Months ago, XD supported the Slash (/) to rename Assets. Meanwhile Zeroheight made possibile to upload these assets to their portal, according to the quantity of Slash used in order to create folder and subfolder. And it was working just fine!

When XD swapped the Slash (/) with the En Dash (-), Zeroheight support Team member told me and I'm quoting: "they were advised that it should be Em Dashes (—) that are used, therefore we've changed it to this as well" https://zeroheight.com/3xlwst8/v/0/p/2729fc--whats-new. As matter of fact I can see Adobe support pages is talking about Em Dash (—), but the XD prompt window is suggesting the End Dash (-) instead. What happened?

Now I've got tons of Assets with En Dash (-) replaced automatically by the XD prompt window, thus they cannot be uploaded according to a clear hierarchy to the Zeroheight Design System I'm building. In fact, Zeroheight accepts Em Dash (—) only. I can't rename manually asset one by one (thousands); it's monkey time consuming!

And to make it worst, XD do not include any massive rename function on Assets. Check mate!

Hi @tony-coccaro,

Sorry for the delay in response. We would request you to please check this page: Work with document assets panel in XD which might help you.

If you have an old XD document that has asset names containing forward slashes, and when you open such a document in XD 50 and later, you get a prompt to do one of the following:
a. Replace slashes with dashes (—) and retain the group hierarchy.

b. Convert slashes into new nesting levels and add depth to the group hierarchy.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hi there,

Nope it didnt help. As I said the prompt is giving me the option to replace assets with (-) instead of (—). See attached fiels to my post, I attached a screenshoot of the prompt window. I'm using XD 56. Either it'll be great to massive rename assets (see my uservoice request) or you fix this temporarly within the app XD or you guys talk to zeroheight team and finda a solution together... 🥲
