Xd removes USB sound input devices on Mac

Hello, this is a really weird issue. I just recently installed Xd on a Mac and evey time I open Xd, my USB webcam and microphone simply disappear from the Sound devices under System Preferences.

While I keep this Sound preferences window open and while Xd is running, these USB devices randomly appear for a few miliseconds then disappear again for a few seconds.

macOS Catalina 10.15.7, see attached for complete device hardware.

(I'm not going to upgrade the OS)
